Matthew singing the "backpack" song...LOL

Matthew loves to watch the 'Noggin' channel when we are at home. He loves Blue's Clues, Max & Ruby, Oswald, Wow Wow Wubzy, The Wonderpets, The Backyardigans, Little Bear, Go Diego Go, and Dora The Explorer. Matthew is getting really good at talking now and has even started singing! Here is a video I caught of Matthew today singing the "backpack" song from 'Dora The Explorer'. ;)

Matthew was all tuckered out after a bath the other night, so I took him in our bed and gave him a little baby message. Well, he was so relaxed he fell asleep in our bed. Something that doesnt occur very often. Curtis went to bed a couple hours later and I snuck into the bedroom to take a picture of them sleeping peacefully.

Dining Out With Matthew!

Matthew has been VERY good about going to restaurants again. He will sit in a booster seat be nice and quiet and eat just like a good little boy. Last weekend we took Matthew to 'Sweet Tomatoes' and he loved it! He has been there before, but this is the first time he sat in a big boy booster seat and ate with utensils too! He had pizza, muffins, crackers, bread, noodles, chicken, and ice cream in a little cone and sprinkles too! ;)

We also took Matthew to Chuck E. Cheese's this past Friday. Here's what we learned: they have terrible food but it is a GREAT place to take your kids! Matthew had an absolute blast there! He went down this slide they have there about 30 times! He also had a good time trying to make friends with the other toddlers that were there. Here are some pictures and video of the night:

The 4th Of July!!!!

Matthew had a wonderful 4th last Friday. Ask him what the fireworks say and you might get an enthusiastic "BOOM!" from him. ;) First we all went to Papa & Nana Airdo's house to have dinner and then afterwards to Saguro Ranch Park to watch the fireworks. Saguaro Ranch Park is where Melissa used to go every year on Independence Day to watch fireworks and Curtis and Melissa used to sometimes go before Matthew was born. This year, we decided to try to make it a tradition and bring Matty there every year. Here are some pictures of our very fun day....

Reborn Joshua Sold! Up Next: 'Ariella'

Reborn Joshua sold on Ebay and I am going to ship him off in a couple of days to his new family in Ohio!

This one is a BIG baby! She is about 22 inches with bent legs and I hear she takes a long time to paint and root her hair. Check back in a couple of weeks for pictures of when I complete her. I have been wanting to reborn this sculpt for awhile, she is a very popular reborn sculpt and sells really well on Ebay. She is so cute too! I think she looks like Shiloh Jolie-Pitt with her big lips! ;)

Birthdays And Sleeping Toddlers

My adorable Niece, Danielle, turned 2 years old last week her mommy & daddy had a little party for her at her house. She got lots of fun presents and had a fun day! Her and Matthew were even getting along better than normal as well. Thank you for letting us be a part of your big day, Danielle, and I am so glad you liked the presents we got you! :) I love you little sweet pea!

Dont EVER wake a sleeping toddler! Matty was being babysat by Nana Sue & Papa Bob last Friday and Nana said he was all upset when we left...he was saying: "Dada, Dada...", so Papa Bob held him and rocked him and he fell asleep. Poor Nana & Papa said they didnt even get to play with Matthew because he slept the whole time mommy & daddy were out! Well, when we went to go pick him up, we had to wake him up. Here are the results....

So the moral of the story is....do not EVER wake a sleeping toddler!

I sold my first reborn! Also, pics of Matty at the track!

I sold my first reborn on EBAY this morning and he will very shortly be on his way to his new home in Illinois! He was a "Squeaky" kit by Pat Secrist. I have to say that this is a very fun and very addicting hobby! I cannot wait now to start on my 3rd reborn!

Well, I had "Baby Jacob" listed on EBAY for $125 or 'Best Offer' and he sold for $115, plus $15 for shipping making a total of $130! I have to pay shipping and that will come out of the profit but we get an awesome deal on shipping through our kart shop so it still comes out to a nice, tidy little profit.

Melissa's New Hobby.

No, that is NOT a real baby you are looking at!

I have a new hobby to take up some more time in my already busy life. ;) I recently started making Reborns! If you are unfamiliar with the art, just search the term "Reborn Doll" on EBAY and you will get the jist of it pretty quick. In short, the term means that you are taking a real baby doll, or you purchase a mold from an internet store that sells reborn supplies, and you strip all the factory paint off of the doll and then add your own layers of paint to give the "baby" realistic skin tones that mimic that of a real human newborn baby! Some reborn artists even root the hair with quality mohair and a rooting needle that roots only 1 or 2 hairs at a time! And, yes, it takes FOREVER! I recently completed my 1st reborn the other day and, overall, it took me about 25 hours from start to finish over the course of about a week. I was mostly working on the doll after Matthew went to sleep when I had a few hours to myself. It is a very time consuming, and sometimes tedious hobby, but it has been a blast! I think dollmaking is in my blood anyways. As some of you may know, my mom made porcelain dolls for a quite a few years when I was growing up. I am going to keep this reborn but I will try to sell my others. I plan to auction them off on EBAY. They go in price from anywhere to $100 all the way to $25,000!!! Hmmm....maybe one day I will be good enough to sell one of my reborns for that much? Well, a girl can dream, can't she? ;)

I have another mold being shipped to me right now and I cannot WAIT to get started on the next doll! This art is all learned by trial and error so now I know the mistakes I made on the first doll so it will be fun to perfect the next doll even more learning from my first mistakes. This next one though I wont keep. :( I will be putting it on EBAY and selling it. It will be hard to see something that I have put so much work into sold, but I cannot keep a million dolls around my house, you know? That wouldn't be very good for room in my home nor room in the pocketbook. Well, hope you enjoyed pictures of my first doll! :)

***P.S. : As I was making this doll I felt that it looked a lot like Matthew did as a newborn. But I was, in a way, trying to make the doll look like him with the dark hair and all. Take a look at this picture of Becky holding Matthew in the hospital. Doesn't the doll look like him? :)
